A man who agreed to donate his sperm to a friend several years ago should not be responsible for paying child support, according to a recent court ruling. The 47-year-old provided sperm to a sperm bank to help a friend conceive a child. A stipulation of the agreement was that the man would not parent the child.
The woman went on to have triplets, one of whom died soon after the birth. Not long after the birth, the woman filed a lawsuit against the man demanding he pay child support. Of course, the man is the biological father of the children, which lower courts decided established paternity.
