Is it worth the money?

Arizona Divorce Law

Question:

We hired an attorney to help us with our case of obtaining custody of my step children. The mother is alienating the children and there has been abuse in the home. We live in CA so to get them to move from their home state is a challenge. We have come across a child custody consultant/pi and he states he can better help us win our case. The attorney is not thrilled about us conversing with him. We aren’t rich, but want to help our chances in possibly securing full custody. Is it worth the money or are we throwing it all away in going in that direction as well?

Answer:

A non-lawyer “consultant” who is telling you that he can better help you than an experienced lawyer in a child custody case should be reported to the State Bar and avoided like the plague!

What you need is an experienced family law attorney.

If you have confidence in your attorney, let him handle everything. If you do not have confidence in your attorney, fire him and find an attorney you have confidence in. If there is need for a private investigator, which there probably is not, let your attorney handle that.

Good luck!
